Hand carved and hand printed linocut print of a camel in the desert. Made with black ink on cream color printmaking paper. Paper is about 11 x 14 inches and printed area is about 8 x 10 inches.
Limited edition of 50. Numbered, titled and signed in pencil below the printed area.
Since this linocut relief print is handmade each print edition will be slightly different and unique.

How a linocut is made: A linocut or linoleum print is a type of relief print where the image is carved with knives into a sheet of linoleum. The lino matrix is then rolled with relief ink and printed on paper, either by hand with a baron or on a printing press. The areas that are carved away will remain the paper color. The uncarved areas will transfer the ink to the paper.
These prints can also be called block prints, and they are similar to woodcut prints.
