Additional details: The Canoe Trip linocut is hand printed with professional quality black oil-based relief ink. It is printed on beige/natural color gampi fiber, handmade Japanese paper and features four natural deckled edges.

How a linocut is made: A linocut or linoleum print is a type of relief print where the image is carved with knives into a sheet of linoleum. The lino matrix is then rolled with relief ink and printed on paper, either by hand with a baron or on a printing press. The areas that are carved away will remain the paper color. The uncarved areas will transfer the ink to the paper.

These prints can also be called block prints, and they are similar to woodcut prints.
